A beautiful quilt

Hexagonal Log Cabin Quilt, Jane Tucker, 1890, Maine

.
I've always loved Log Cabin quilts, but not so much Pineapple quilts, I don't really know why. But this hexagonal "pineapple" quilt really caught my eye, I love it!
It was made in 1890 in Maine, by Jane Tucker with the help of her niece, Angie.

If you are interested in the Pineapple quilts, go to Barbara Brackman's good article on the subject. You'll see nice examples there.

Throwback Thursday, looking back at early quilts…

©Maryline Collioud-Robert, Savane, 169 / 169 cm, 1992

Here's a quilt I made 25 years ago... I started by painting a very large piece of commercial black and whit fabric, making a corner black, a corner blue and a corner white. I then cut a large square hole in the middle and use that part to make fused appliqué on the patchwork.

I always liked this quilt, and I have over my dining table. Unfortunately the colors are fading!...
