A quilt for a man / 4

My new philosophy says that I shall use what is in my drawers more and run to the store less!
So I looked what I had at home to make the background of my quilt, and came up with a group of yellow fabrics. They could be all right for a quilt to be hanged on a wall, but for a quilt intended to be used to keep warm while watching TV, they looked a bit drab. Therefore I went to my left over stripes drawer, and took out all the stripes I could find, in the colors of my quilt.

I sew groups of stripes, and cut them all in of the same width.

I marked the size of the quilt on the ground with scotch tape.

Then I started building the back, joining the different fabrics with groups of stripes, until it reached the correct size.

Here is a little trick. If you sew a large or heavy patchwork, always set the needle down. So if you move the quilt by accident, the needle will always stay where it must.
