Origami with envelops, a tutorial

I've been collecting blue security envelopes, and decided to do something with the papers... I'll show you  how to make a nice hanging with origami cranes!
Cut squares from your paper. Your dimensions will depend from the size of what you have collected. Find a tutorial to make cranes on the net, for example here. (there's a video too)

Once you have folded at least 5 cranes, take some embroidery thread and pearls, small and larger.

Start with a larger pearl for weight. Further down, thread a smaller pearl. Make a knot so the pearl and the crane don't slide along the thread. Thread a crane.
Thread a pearl or more, small or large again at some distance from the first crane, for decoration.
Then thread one more small pearl where you want the second crane to stay and make a knot. Keep going.

Continuez.

  7. I love this project & couldn't wait to try it out but struggled with the instructions for making a crane (from the link listed).

I found this video with printable instructions much easier to follow & everything just clicked into place!

Thanks for the inspiration, I'm going to make some & brighten up the stairs in the block of flats where I live!

  10. I can't believe what a difference making these in a monochromatic color scheme makes! And I love the way you have suggested for hanging. So now - to begin my own paper collection!!!! And maybe instead of beads i will connect mine with snowflakes!
