This year the theme for our group exhibition is the weather. All titles must contain a word related to the weather or weather report. Invitation and information below.

My quilt's name is "Percée dans les nuages", which means something like "peak through the clouds"... 

Cette année le thème de notre exposition de groupe est la météo. Tous les titres doivent contenir au moins un mot en relation avec le temps qu'il fait ou la météo. Invitation et informations ci-dessous.

Mon quilt s'appelle "Percée dans les nuages"...

I gathered all my beige, rust, brown scraps and made a free hand cutting crazy quilt.

J'ai rassemblé tous mes restes beiges, rouille, bruns et j'ai fait un quilt crazy à main levée.

Neuchâtel Patchwork had their biennal exhibition at le Péristyle de l'Hôtel de Ville of Neuchâtel in June. As always, members made a quilt for the lottery. Somebody won the quilt by just buying one ticket!

Neuchâtel Patchwork a euson exposition biennale au Péristyle de l'Hôtel de ville de Neuchâtel en juin. Comme toujours les membres ont réalisé un quilt pour la loterie. Quelqu'un a gagné le quilt en achetant juste un billet!

We chose the Diagonal 9Patch technique, easy, and a lot of fun!!

Nous avons choisi la technique du Diagonal 9Patch, facile et super amusant!!

Neuchâtel Patchwork Exposition

Neuchâtel Patchwork's exhibition is over. We had a lot of visitors, lots of fun, lots of work and loved it all! 

The size of the quilts was given, and on top of that, our members had to use one of the two fabrics on the top left corner of the card in their quilt. Such a variety in the resulting quilts!

L'exposition de Neuchâtel Patchwork est terminée. Nous avons eu beaucoup de visiteurs, beaucoup de travail, on s'est bien amusées, que du plaisir!

La taille des quilts était donnée, et en plus, nos membres devaient utiliser un des deux tissus en haut à gauche de la carte dans leur quilt. Quelle variété dans les quilts résultant de ce défi!

Quilt for an exhibition

Our quilt group exhibition opens next week and I haven't finished my quilt yet! The dimensions are given, as well as one fabric to incorporate in the quilt. I'm making a contemporary mola. 

First I make two panels with stripes of fabrics.

Notre exposition de groupe ouvre la semaine prochaine et je n'ai pas encore fini mon quilt! Les dimensions sont données, ainsi qu'un tissu à incorporer dans le quilt. Je fais un moka contemporain.

Je commence par faire deux panneaux de bandes.

I draw on the back of the quilt the "holes" that I'll make later.

Je dessine sur le dos du quilt les "trous" que je réaliserai plus tard.

I baste all layers together, including batting.

Let's seen next week if I manage to finish the quilt in time!

Je faufile toutes les couches, y compris la ouatine.

Voyons la semaine prochaine si j'arrive à terminer le quilt à temps!

Colorful group quilt

Working with some friends on a group quilt which will be drawn at our group's next exhibit. Lots of fun!

On travaille avec quelques amies sur un quilt qui sera tiré au sort lors de la prochaine exposition de notre groupe. On s'amuse bien!

Finished! / Fini!

The Neuchâtel Patcwork exhibition closed its doors sunday evening. It was a successful event, lots of enthusiasts visitors, and quite a few sales. We had a great time. See you in two years!

L'exposition de Neuchâtel Patchwork a fermé ses portes dimanche soir. Ce fut un événement couronné de succès, avec de nombreux visiteurs enthousiastes et pas mal de ventes. Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir. Rendez-vous dans deux ans!

Blue/Orange Quilt, Episode 6

The Blue/Orange quilt is finished and is called "Radiance". It will be part of the Neuchâtel Patchwork exhibition opening on April 26. It is machine pieced and quilted with a Sashiko machine.

Le quilt Bleu/Orange et terminé et s'appelle "Radiance". Il fera partie de l'exposition de Neuchâtel Patchwork qui s'ouvre le 26 avril. Il est cousu à la machine et quilté avec une machine Sashiko.

Here is the back, and you can see how the back stitch of the Sashiko machine looks: like a regular machine stitch.

Voici le dos, et vous pouvez voir l'aspect du revers du point Sashiko: comme un point machine habituel.

In fact, there is only one thread, on the bobbin, and the needle is more like a hook. It picks up the thread from the bobbin, makes a stitch, and then drops the thread again. Very interesting process. Which makes the machine a bit sensitive with thick layers.

En fait il n'y a qu'un fil, sur la canette, et l'aiguille ressemble plus à un crochet. Il prend le fil de la bobine, fait un point et le relâche. Procédé très intéressant. Ce qui rend la machine un peu sensible aux épaisseurs.
