A baby quilt

As a quilter mam/grandma/aunt/cousin it's a tradition for me to make a quilt when a baby is born. There's been 15 babies in the family so far and I managed to make about 10, giving a quilt to each family for the first born at least!

En tant que maman/grandmaman/tante/cousine c'est la tradition de faire un quilt quand un bébé naît. Il y a déjà eu 15 bébés dans la famille et j'en ai fait à peu près 10, au moins un par famille, pour l'aîné en tout cas!

I'm creating a new pattern and I made the quilt with some of the extra blocks...

Je suis en train de créer un nouveau patron et j'ai fait le quilt avec quelques uns des blocs restants...

HST Baby quilt for new granddaughter!

I haven't done many quilts this year, but with a new grand daughter on the way, I started something in my daughter's favorite colors...

Je n'ai pas réalisé beaucoup de quilts cette année, mais avec une nouvelle petite fille attendue, j'ai commencé un projet dans les couleurs préférées de ma fille...

I was so enthusiastic to be on my sewing machine again that I cut a tremendous numbers of squares. I finally made a plaid for mother and child!

J'ai été tellement contente de me remettre à la machine à coudre que j'ai coupé un nombre incroyable de carrés. Finalement j'ai fait un plaid pour mère et enfant!

Loving the HST (half square triangle) technique once more! Once the HST were done, I sew four together in a random four patch and then played with the blocks. Lots easier that way than arranging individual squares!

Encore une fois j'apprécie la technique HST (triangle de demi carré)! Une fois les HST tous cousus, je les ai rassemblés par quatre de façon aléatoire. Plus facile de les arranger ainsi plutôt qu'avec des carrés individuels!

City Quilt Pattern

Yes, it's true, I love blue! When I made another version of my pattern City Quilt, I chose blue again, but this time mostly prints and scraps.

Oui, c'est vrai, j'aime le bleu! Quand j'ai fait une autre version de mon patron City Quilt, j'ai choisi du bleu encore une fois, en majorité des imprimes et des restes.

Then a small selection of warm tones accent fabrics.

Ensuite une petite sélection de tissus accents dans les tons chauds.

Once the technique is understood, you can play with your blocks. You can put as much plain surfaces as you wish, to quiet down the whole, or you can keep it intensive!!

Une fois la technique comprise, vous pouvez jouer avec vos blocs. Vous pouvez mettre autant de surfaces entières que vous voulez, ou vous pouvez rester dans l'intensif!!

City Quilt, mostly blue fabrics with warm accents. How to make something that looks complicated with a very easy technique! Looks great with other color combinations!

City Quilt, en majorité des tissus bleus avec des accents chauds. Comment faire quelque chose qui a l'air compliqué avec une technique simple! Cela marche très bien aussi avec d'autres combinaisons de couleurs.

Here's the quilt shown on the pattern. The use of solids give it a more modern quilt look. Once you understand how it works, you can do any size, any color combination!

Voici le quilt présenté sur le patron. L'utilisation de tissus unis lui donne un air plus moderne. Une fois que vous connaissez la technique, vous pouvez choisir n'importe quelle taille et n'importe quelle combinaison de couleurs!
