Another kind of color gradient!

You saw here the quilt we made for my niece and her husband, but here is another home made color gradient: A white wedding cake, and 6 fruit "bavarois", lemon, passion fruit, apricot, strawberry, raspberry, black current! 
Took us, 4 people, 10 hours to make. It was delicious!

Vous avez vu ici le quilt que nous avons fait pour ma nièce, mais voici un autre dégradé fait maison: un wedding cake blanc, puis 6 bavarois aux fruits, citron, fruit de la passion, abricot, fraise, framboise, cassis!
Cela nous a pris, 4 personnes, 10 heures à réaliser.

Disappearing 9 Patch Wedding Quilt

A niece of mine got married last Saturday. We decided to make a quilt for her and her husband. In three week-ends, we gathered Nine Patch blocs from many wedding guests, we cut the blocs according to the Disappearing Nine Patch technique, sewed all the blocs, basted and quilted the quilt. A record!

The gift was greatly appreciated!

Une de mes nièces s'est mariée samedi passé. Nous avons décidé de faire un quilt pour elle et son mari. En trois week-ends  nous avons récolté des blocks d'une bonne partie des invités au mariage, avons coupé les blocs selon la méthode du Nine Patch Disparu, avons faufilé et matelassé le quilt. Un record!

Le cadeau a été très apprécié!

Quilt Visions San Diego

I'm very pleased to say that I've been selected to Quilt Visions San Diego, opening October 3, 2014!
I've been buying every Quilt Visions catalogue, because I find it one of the most interesting quilt exhibitions in the world. 

J'ai le grand plaisir de vous annoncer que j'ai été sélectionnée à Quilt Visions San Diego, qui commencera le 3 octobre 2014! J'ai régulièrement acheté le catalogue de Quilt Visions au fil des années, car je la considère comme une des expositions de quilts les plus intéressantes au monde.

As my memory is starting to play tricks on me, I've made this quilt thinking about my brain, and trying to picture how some thoughts or memories click together, or why some are lost. I chose to work with only grey fabrics, but my love of color is too strong, and I started adding some blues and browns.

Comme ma mémoire commence à me jouer des tours, j'ai fait ce quilt en pensant à mon cerveau, essayant de me représenter comment certaines pensées ou souvenirs se connectent ou pourquoi certains se perdent. J'ai choisi de travailler avec des tissus gris, mais mon amour de la couleur est trop fort, et j'ai commencé à ajouter quelques bleus et bruns.
