Here's how to make some easy patchwork ornaments with scraps of fabrics.
First, take 8 fabric squares or left over patchwork squares from another project.
Sew 4 squares together, but don't sew all the way to the end of the seam, live an opening as wide as the presser foot. Back stitch to secure the seam.
Present the two pieces as shown. The point of the first piece is going to be sewn in the middle of the side of the other piece.
Sew one side at a time, starting and stoping with back stitches. Don't sew the seam allowance. Start turning around, one side at a time, pinning your pieces together.
At some point, you can add a rubban to hang your ornament.
The work start going 3D.
Le travail passe en 3D.
Leave one side open and turn the little bag around through the hole. Fill with batting.
Hand stitch the last side.
Cousez le dernier côté à la main.
You can add buttons or pearls.
These ornaments are called "biscornus" in French, but I don't know if they have a name in English. Do you?

RépondreSupprimerThey're absolutely adorable, and the bright, cheery colors you've chosen are just perfect for this form. Those tiny beads at the tips make me so happy!
RépondreSupprimerThanks ladies for you nice comments! I really enjoyed making them, and since I have hundred of left over scraps, I might drown my relatives with "biscornus"!
