Maastricht

I've just come back from a few days in Maastricht to be with my daughter and her family. I could have taken numerous pictures of the fabric market and all nice things to see in Maastricht, but I've already done that here:

And if you need a good excuse, the Open European Quilt Championships will take place in Maastricht from October 20th to 23rd 2016.

Alors, si vous n'avez jamais mis les pieds à Maastricht, pensez-y lors de vos prochaines escapades, et faites en sorte d'y être un vendredi matin, afin de ne pas manquer le marché!

A Trip to Maastricht, Part 1

Last week, a group of great ladies left for a five days trip to Maastricht, Netherlands. We stopped in Cologne on the way, to visit the cathedral.

La semaine dernière, un groupe de dames formidables sont parties pour un voyage de 5 jours à Maastricht, Hollande. Nous nous sommes arrêtées en route à Cologne pour visiter la cathédrale.

Every Friday, in Maastricht there's the market!! There you can not only buy fish or fruits, flowers and vegetables, roasted chicken, but you can buy FABRICs!!

Chaque vendredi à Maastricht, il y a le marché. Là vous n'achetez pas que du poisson ou des fruits, des fleurs ou des légumes, du poulet rôti, mais vous pouvez acheter des TISSUS!

There are fabrics of all kinds, mostly for sewing clothes, but quite a bit of cottons as well, perfect for making patchwork

Il y a toutes sortes de tissus, en majorité des tissus pour faire des habits, mais il y a aussi pas mal de cotons, parfaits pour le patchwork.

After the market, sunny, 20 degrees, we went shopping in the numerous boutiques of Maastricht. And there went a wonderful day already!

Après le marché, par 20 degrés au soleil, nous sommes allées faire du shopping dans les innombrables boutiques de Maastricht. Et voilà déjà une belle journée de passée.

Maastricht

Once again I was in Maastricht, Holland, and didn't miss the Friday Market! I went shopping for ribbons! So many kinds of ribbons in one place and at reasonable prices, one can't resist!

Une fois encore j'étais à Maastricht, Hollande, et je n'ai pas manqué le marché du vendredi. Je suis allée acheter des rubans! Autant de rubans à une seule place et à des prix raisonnables, on n'y résiste pas!

Shopping for fabrics in the Netherlands

I bought the most beautiful, soft, fluid fabrics at Maastricht's textile market last week. I'm going to make scarves out of them. Come back soon for more pictures!
