Last January I was telling you that I was enthusiastic about a new quilt. I finished it and entered it in a international contest, Artextures, organized by France Patchwork. And I got accepted! I brought my quilt to the post office, it will travel around France and Europe for about 2 years!

En janvier dernier, je vous parlais de mon enthousiasme pour un nouveau quilt. Je l'ai terminé et je l'ai inscrit à un concours international, Artextures, organisé par France Patchwork. Et j'ai été acceptée! J'ai apporté mon quilt à la poste, il va voyager pendant deux and à travers la France et l'Europe!

...that you can subscribe to the quilt of the month, at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska? First you should go to the site, and browse through the collection. But if you want a reminder, each month the museum selects a quilt and tell us more about it. Very interesting! You can also view past exhibitions. Great when you live far away!

Workshop? / Stage?

Do you belong to a guild and you've been wanting to invite a quilting teacher or a known artist for a workshop? Is it the first time? Are you hesitating because it will be too much work or are you afraid it is going to be too complicated?

Appartenez-vous à un club ou une association et vous avez envie d'inviter une prof de patchwork ou une artiste connue pour un stage? C'est la première fois? Vous hésitez parce que vous craignez d'avoir trop de travail ou vous avez peur que ce ne soit trop compliqué?

Having been invited to give numerous workshops all around Europe, I've met all kinds of teaching conditions, good and less good! The course itself always went well, and the people I've met were always great people, full of enthusiasm, very friendly. But there are sometimes (rarely) a few things lacking in the organization.

J'ai été invitée à donner de nombreux stages dans toute l'Europe, et j'ai rencontré toutes sortes de conditions d'enseignement, bonnes et moins bonnes! Les cours eux-mêmes se sont toujours bien déroulés, et les gens que j'ai rencontrés ont toujours été des gens formidables, pleins d'enthousiasme, très amicaux. Mais c'est quelques fois (rarement) dans l'organisation qu'il y a des lacunes.

Therefore, I thought I would write a short worksheet for first time workshop organizers, to can start on a good foot, and not make the most current mistakes.
 This is just a suggestion, I'm sure there are  a hundred other ways to handle this!

C'est pourquoi j'ai pensé rédiger un court mode d'emploi pour les personnes qui organisent un stage pour la première fois, pour commencer d'un bon pied, et pour ne pas faire les fautes les plus courantes. 
C'est juste une suggestion, je suis certaine qu'il y a cent façons différentes d'empoigner le problème!
